Kiwanis Club of Silver City host annual Christmas Party and Service Project for Patients of Fort Bayard Hospital.

Each year over a hundred gifts are purchased from special wish lists of patients at Fort Bayard Medica Center, then area friends and family of Kiwanis Club of Silver City come together to wrap all the special gifts.  Also a beautiful meal is enjoyed, this year prepared by member, Vera Lee, and gifts are exchanged by all in attendance in a fun game setting.  Lori did a fabulous job of organizing the event held at First Baptist Church in Silver City. Decorations provided by Lori and Sabrina.

Kiwanis Club members help Serina raise funds for her national trip. Serina painted a special painting that was raffled that evening.  A very huge thank you is given by Serina for the help she has received from Kiwanis Club of Silver City. Robert was the winner of the painting.

Gifts are wrapped by all to help add to a special Christmas for those in care at the Fort Bayard Medical Center.

District Convention in Tucson, August 2011, was Great!

Here are some special highlights!

Our Lt. Govenor in Action!
We are so proud of her!

At the District Convention in Tucson, AZ, on August 6th, Lori Bonomo was awarded the Kachina medal and Kachina doll for her work at Kiwanis Club of Silver City. This award was voted on by other members of the club that are also Kachina winners. Presenting the award was Lt. Governor Alma Carson and Southwest District President Bob Kay. Lori was the only member of Kiwanis at the convention to receive this award. The money spent for the award all goes to the Southwest District Foundation.

Also, Silver City Kiwanis Members donated special items for the auction like Mary, a beautiful necklace, and Sandy, a fantastic photograph!

Serina Pack--Cliff Key Club, 17 years of age, donated one of her original watercolor paintings of a Victorian home and buggy scene (pictured below). The painting brought $500 for the Kiwanis Foundation who supports scholarships.
